Meanwhile, you can take classes on campus or online depending on your schedule. Both options are equally legitimate and most graduates can get jobs right after the ceremony because of their hands-on training. At the same time, the most employable grads always start their education in high school.

The 5 classes you need to get into college for Biology

Getting good grades in high school is more important than you think. That’s because your test scores tell colleges how well you perform under different pressures. Your transcripts also reveal how prepared you are for college-level biology classes because they showcase your experiences in the field.

So, if you’re thinking about entering college to get an Associate Degree in Biology, make sure your high school schedule includes the following classes:

  1. Physics
  2. Calculus
  3. Chemistry (AP)
  4. Biology (AP)
  5. Natural Science

For more information or for help getting your grades up, talk to your high school admissions counselor, or join a small study group.

Tips for earning your Associate Degree in Biology faster

Although it takes about two years to complete this credential, there are a few ways you can earn it quicker. Moreover, doing these three things in high school will give you a huge head start in college:

  • Take college prep classes if you get the chance. Keep in mind that some high schools offer AP classes for certain subjects only.
  • Gain career insights from sources other than school. That means volunteering or applying for an internship of some kind.
  • Learn about the heroes in your field because you’ll be tested on that knowledge when you get to college.

Once you’re enrolled at a university, zip through your degree with these three simple tips:

  • Never miss a class if you help it. That’s because you never know when your professor will assign a pop quiz that affects your grade.
  • Take lots of notes. Even if you think you don’t need to, write it down anyway.
  • Join as many clubs and groups as you can. This sets you apart from the other students at graduation and beyond.

Remember, you can finish your college Biology degree as soon as you complete the required classes. So, take as many as you can but be careful not to overload your schedule.

The takeaway

Being successful in college means being diligent in high school. So, whether you’re taking classes online or on campus, never forget the power of being prepared.
